This three-story fortified residence is well hidden in a plantation area of the suburb of Bawshar, Muscat. Close to the city's last remaining sand dunes, Bait al Maqham is a unique structure at the foot of the Al Hajar mountains. Also known as “the Big House”, it has witnessed two major restoration and historic preservation projects that were undertaken by The Ministry of Heritage and Culture of Oman.

This exhibit is intended to display research and assembly techniques used in constructing the model of Bait Al Maqham. The scale model was finally presented to The Ministry of Heritage and Culture of Oman and exhibited for the public at large.
